Announcing Green Line Ventures

Babson, Olin, and Wellesley (BOW), is a collection of like minded schools, acting as a hub for innovation and student entrepreneurship. For over 20 years, Babson has been ranked #1 in entrepreneurship, churning out notable startups and Fortune 500 companies. Olin has one of the top-ranked undergraduate engineering programs, while simultaneously producing entrepreneurs at 5 times the rate of Stanford. Wellesley is ranked as the 3rd most prestigious liberal arts programs and has a legacy of producing some of the best analytical minds in the world.

Despite being located within a two mile radius of each other, BOW entrepreneurs are often limited to their own school’s resources and collaboration is confined to the classroom. Although our schools specialize in different aspects of building companies, like business acumen, technology, and creativity, BOW founders lack a structured and united entrepreneurial community. We at Green Line Ventures and Tim Chae, general partner at 500 Startups and Babson alum, realized the potential of the BOW schools working together and started the groundwork for a student-run fund by recruiting driven students who are involved in the startup scene.

Our mission at Green Line Ventures is to bridge the gap between the three schools by providing capital and resources for the next generation of student founders. Make no mistake, successful companies like Lever, Home Depot, Ring, and BlackRock have been founded by BOW entrepreneurs. We at Green Line Ventures firmly believe that if BOW founders had earlier access to capital, our network, and post-investment support, they would be successful earlier and there would be a greater number of exceptional ventures emerging from the BOW ecosystem.

In partnership with 500 Startups, we will be writing checks ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 for BOW entrepreneurs. Lastly, Green Line Ventures is not run by Wall Street or a team in Silicon Valley. We are a team of six current BOW students, who are dedicated to prioritizing the needs of our founders.

We could not be more excited to provide top-tier tools to BOW entrepreneurs, and more importantly, enable the next generation of BOW-led companies.
